Navigating the expansive lake region in Chapter 4 of the Resident Evil 4 Remake presents players with several environmental puzzles. Among these obstacles is the Small Cave Shrine, a location holding one of the key items needed to obtain the Church Insignia. Solving this stone dais puzzle requires keen observation, as the solution is hidden across yellow paint markings throughout the shrine's interior.

Where to Find the Small Cave Shrine

The Small Cave Shrine is situated in the far northeastern corner of the lake map. Players can easily navigate to this area using the motorboat once they gain free exploration access in Chapter 4. Unlike its counterpart, the Large Cave Shrine, this location contains no hostile enemies, allowing players to investigate the environment at their own pace.

Locating the Yellow Symbol Clues

To unlock the stone dais console, players must identify three distinct yellow symbols painted on the cave walls and structure. The first symbol is clearly visible on the lower level, painted directly onto the wall adjacent to the central ladder. However, the remaining two symbols require players to adjust their perspective from the upper floor to view them properly.

Climbing up the ladder reveals the second symbol, which is split across two separate surface levels and aligns only when viewed from a specific angle above. The third symbol is located near the upper doorway on the edge of the wooden wall and rock faces. By standing close to the top ledge, the perspective shifts to complete the final painted icon.

Inputting the Solution and Rewards

After observing all three painted markings, head back down to interact with the eight-button stone dais terminal. You must press the three corresponding buttons matching the symbols: the bottom-left icon, the left icon, and the bottom-right icon. The order in which you press these buttons does not affect the outcome.

Entering the correct combination unlocks the wooden door adjacent to the pedestal. Inside, players can retrieve the Blasphemer's Head key item needed to progress the main story. Additionally, you can grab Hexagon Piece C from a nearby box to complete the optional Hexagon Altar treasure puzzle.
